THE DOGS OF ROSSENDALE
“Long walks are just better with a dog by your side”
That’s a wrap for this week’s Pennine Pooches adventures! Before we go into what our pooches got up to, we’d like to thank all of our customers and their dogs for allowing us to continue with our dream job. Each week that goes by just means that we have another week to look forward to.
This blog will be updated weekly and published on Saturday evenings, we’ll make sure we post on our Facebook page when these go live!
As a thank you, we are going to be scheduling fortnightly free giveaways that are exclusively available to our customers. That’s right, you heard it! Free top quality leads, treats, toys and more. The first giveaway will open on the 10th of December and will end on the 16th. We’ll provide more info on the prizes in the next issue of The Walk Report.
Now, let’s take a look at what we got up to this week…
Monday Funday
Monday isn’t so bad when you’re surrounded by this lot. If you didn’t see already from our Facebook post, we had the delight to spend the day with Ollie, Thor, Arnie, Odin, Lucy, Rocko, Baxter, Henry, Dolly, Cooper, Luna and Archie!
The weather was a 5 but the company was a 10! Fortunately, we didn’t have any rain but as we plod our way closer and closer to winter we saw lows of 2° and highs of 5°. Brrrrr!

Chews-day
Tuesday brought some real moody vibes to our day, but it made for some incredible pictures and atmosphere in the forests of Rossendale. If you didn’t see it already, here is our post on Facebook for Tuesday this week!
Our Tuesday group has a very diverse group of characters and personalities and they all bring their own thing to the table. Who was with us this week? Let’s find out. Roll call! Bear, Tank, Molly, Milo, Disco, Indigo, Bandit, Luna, Nell, Freddie and Luther. All present and ready for their adventure, let’s get a move on.
Wednesday already?
For most, Wednesday is one of the hardest days to get through. Not for this lot! Wednesday is adventure day and boy did we have a good one this week.
It was a crisp 2° when we started pick-ups and it struggled to stay above 4° all day! The cold weather brought on another misty morning and we seized the opportunity to get some more playtime in the moody forests.
Today we were joined by Rex, Archie, Betty, Archie, Indigo, Bandit, Archie, Luna, Dozer, Teddy, Logan, Cooper, Max and Ruby!
We’re also going to take a share some of the scenery that we come across on our walks that we don’t usually post on our Facebook page. Today we’re getting up close and personal with some mushrooms!
Mushrooms everywhere!
We think this might be Sulphur tuft (Hypholoma fasciculare)
Cap: 4–8cm. Abundant in all types of woodland, on decaying stumps in big golden groups. Blackens with age.
As with most things on the ground, don’t let your dogs eat them! We make every effort to keep our pooches away from things they might find tasty on the ground.
Furrsday
The Thursday group is back and ready to go! This week we were joined by Bear, Ollie, Thor, Rex, Arnie, Bonnie, Nell, Rocko, Nellie, Henry, Dolly, Cooper, Hendrix and Luna. Some of these dogs have been with eachother for over a year now and they just can’t wait for Thursday to come around soon enough.
Yet again, we had more fog and it was pretty chilly with lows of 3°. No rain today for the fourth day in a row!
Friday. OMG IT’S FRIDAY!
What better way to end the week with a trip to one of our most favourite walks? It’s a little further away than our usual locations but it’s well worth the drive. Our Friday group recently gained a new member with Keiko the Siberian Husky. She’s so elegantly slotted into the group you’d think she’s been with us for years.
Our Friday crew members are Dora, Dozer, Molly, Bella, Keiko, Indigo and Bandit.
Before you go…
Thank you again for your support. We hope you enjoy what’s to come.
